‘No One Objected’: McCabe Reveals He Told Top Members of Congress FBI Opened Counter-Intel Investigation on Trump

‘No One Objected’

Former Acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe revealed Tuesday morning that he informed the “Gang of 8,” the top Republican and Democratic leaders in the House and Senate, when the FBI opened a counter-intelligence investigation of President Donald Trump.

“No one objected,” McCabe told NBC News’ Savannah Guthrie on the “Today” show.

That no one, not even top Republicans, objected, is remarkable.

McCabe delivered the briefing to the Gang of 8 just days after President Trump fired FBI Director Jim Comey, an act we now know directly led to the the installation of Robert Mueller as Special Counsel.

“I told Congress what we had done,” McCabe said. “No one objected. Not on legal grounds, not on Constitutional grounds, and not on the facts.”

McCabe says he was fired because he opened the investigation into President Trump.
