Judge to Roger Stone: Explain to Me Why I Shouldn’t ‘Modify or Revoke’ Your ‘Conditions of Release’

A federal judge has ordered longtime Trump advisor and self-described “dirty trickster” Roger Stone to appear before her and explain why she should not revoke his bail and place him in jail pending trial.

Stone Monday posted an image to his Instagram account that showed an image of U.S. District Judge Amy Berman Jackson’s face next to crosshairs.

Many saw the image as threatening, but Stone, while removing the post, insisted it was “categorically false” to infer it was meant to threaten the judge, who is presiding over his case.

Stone later, through his attorneys, issued an apology, stating “he recognizes the impropriety” of the image.

That apparently was not sufficient for the judge.

The Atlantic’s Natasha Bertrand just posted Judge Jackson’s order demanding Stone appear in court to show why his “conditions of release” should not be “modified or revoked.”

Many were outraged upon seeing the Instagram image. U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) called it “stomach turning” and “criminally threatening.”

The judge could throw Stone in jail.

Stone was arrested in January and charged with five counts of lying, witness tampering and obstructing an official proceeding.
