The U.S. House of Representatives, just ten hours after Nancy Pelosi was elected Speaker, has passed a spending bills package which would reopen the federal government. There is no funding for President Trump’s wall in those bills.
The bills are identical to those passed by the U.S. Senate, which will make it challenging for Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to now refuse to bring it up for a vote.
If and when the Senate passes the bills, President Trump would have to sign them in order for the government to re-open. The White House has said President Trump will not sign them.
