DHS Test Shows Trump’s ‘Artistically Designed Steel Slat’ Border Wall Can Be Sawed Through With Common Tools

As a candidate Donald Trump for years promised voters he would build an “impenetrable, physical, tall, powerful, beautiful” concrete border wall, and that “Mexico will pay for it.”

Recently, President Trump switched from a concrete wall to “artistically designed steel slats.” He claimed it will be “beautiful,” and better because it can be seen through.

Tuesday night he called his steel slat wall “absolutely critical to border security.”

But an exclusive NBC News report finds that the “artistically designed steel slats” won’t work.

Why?

“Department of Homeland Security testing of a steel slat prototype proved it could be cut through with a saw, according to a report by DHS,” NBC reports.

The Marine Corps was brought in and asked to try to destroy it “with common tools.”

They did.

President Trump will travel to Texas Thursday to visit the border as he tries to make his case for Congress to give him $5.7 billion to build his artistically designed steel slats wall.

This new finding isn’t going to help.
