Sarah Sanders: Stone Arrest ‘Not Something That Affects Us’ But What About Hillary Clinton? (Video)

The White House is responding to the news that the FBI arrested longtime Donald Trump ally and advisor Roger Stone.

Sarah Huckabee Sanders told CNN (video below) from the White House lawn Friday morning that the indictment “is not something that affects us here in this building.”

The White House press secretary also said, “this has nothing to do with the President and nothing to do with the White House,” despite that the actions noted in the indictment were related to the Trump campaign and getting Trump elected President.

Sanders, as the Trump administration always does when referring to an individual associated with the campaign or the administration who has been arrested, attempted to minimize his importance.

“Look, Roger Stone’s somebody who’s been a consultant for dozens of Republican Presidents and candidates and members of Congress,” she said.

Huckabee Sanders also minimized the scope of the indictment, suggesting it was only about making false statements. Stone was indicted on seven counts, which also include obstruction of justice and witness tampering.

And the press secretary also suggested the FBI should arrest Hillary Clinton, Jim Comey, and James Clapper, saying they all made false statements. The validity of her claim is questionable.

Huckabee Sanders concluded by appearing to sidestep a question about whether or not she knew about the Trump campaign’s attempt to contact Wikileaks.
