President Donald Trump managed to refrain from weighing in on the bombshell news his good friend and longtime advisor and ally Roger Stone was arrested by the FBI in a pre-dawn raid Friday morning. But just after 11 AM, as Stone was being arraigned in court, Trump was unable to hold back.
The President called the actions of Special Counsel Robert Mueller and his team investigating Russia’s attack on the U.S. elections the “Greatest Witch Hunt in the History of our Country!”
In reality, there have been six Trump associates charged, 31 Russians and Russian entities charged, for a total of 199 criminal charges, including seven against Roger Stone.
As for Trump’s false suggestion, one alleged – also falsely by Greta Van Sustern – that the Mueller team tipped off CNN, CNN’s Jim Sciutto offered this insight:
