CNN Hosts Ridicule Trump for Unearthed 2004 Speech Saying Walls Can’t Stop Anything or Anyone

CNN hosts John Berman and Alisyn Camertoa couldn’t contain their glee on Thursday morning after a clip was unearthed showing Donald Trump telling college graduates to never let walls stop them from reaching their goals.

The speech, unearthed by producers of The Daily Show, shows Trump exhorting graduates to follow their dreams — a popular staple of commencement speeches.

“Don’t give up. Don’t allow it to happen,” Trump bellowed. “If there’s a concrete wall in front of you, go through it. Go over it. Go around it. But get to the other side of that wall.”

“One thing that changed is how Donald Trump feels about the impenetrability of a wall,” host Camerota said before showing the clip. “He was giving an address at Wagner University in 2006 and he brought up — a wall.”

Following the airing of the clip, the entire CNN panel sat there laughing, with Berman sarcastically adding, “You can get through walls, there’s no way to get through walls.”

“Back then, he understood the shortcomings of a wall,” the laughing Camerota added.
