President Donald Trump wasted no time Friday night, taking to Twitter minutes after news broke that a federal district judge in Texas ruled ObamaCare is unconstitutional nationwide.
“As I predicted all along, Obamacare has been struck down as an UNCONSTITUTIONAL disaster!” Trump tweeted.
The Affordable Care Act provides access to health insurance for tens of millions of people in America. It also protects people with pre-existing conditions, and offers people many other benefits most don’t even know they have as a result of the 2010 law.
The Republican Party voted over 70 times, unsuccessfully, to repeal or replace the ACA. In recent years the law has become so popular the GOP has run away from their own votes, with many Republican lawmakers lying over the past year about their voting record. President Trump also repeatedly lied about his record on ObamaCare.
A 2009 Harvard study found “45,000 deaths annually linked to lack of health coverage.”
“Now Congress must pass a STRONG law that provides GREAT healthcare and protects pre-existing conditions,” President Trump added on Twitter. “Mitch and Nancy, get it done!” he commanded, once again sidestepping all responsibility.
Trump strongly supported the lawsuit that Friday night killed ObamaCare. He also repeatedly has supported numerous bills that would have killed coverage of pre-existing conditions.
