Trump Kicks Off Last Day of the Year by Digging in on Border Wall
The Trump Shutdown isn’t going to end any time soon. President Trump kicked off the week, and the last day of 2018, by digging in his heels for a concrete border wall.
Pushing back against claims made by his outgoing chief of staff John Kelly, Trump insisted in a tweet, “An all concrete Wall was NEVER ABANDONED, as has been reported by the media.”
The media reported Kelly’s remarks.
And then, in typical Trump fashion, he flip-flopped, declaring an all concrete wall apparently had been abandoned.
“Some areas will be all concrete but the experts at Border Patrol prefer a Wall that is see through (thereby making it possible to see what is happening on both sides). Makes sense to me!”
In fact, ten days ago Trump tweeted out an artist’s rendering on his not-concrete border wall. It was later revealed the image was not among any of the proposals, but it was Trump trying to move away from the concept of an all concrete border wall.
