‘He Doesn’t Add Anything’: Advisors Forcing Trump to Think About Dumping Pence

Would Donald Trump replace Mike Pence? That’s a question the president’s advisors are trying to get him to answer. According to Vanity Fair’s Gabriel Sherman (whose track record is excellent,) Trump hosted a 2020 strategy meeting on Monday.

Pence was on the agenda.

Trump’s advisors are “beginning to think about whether Mike Pence should be running again,” a source told Sherman, saying polling shows the vice president “doesn’t add anything” to the ticket.

“Trump Ponders Jettisoning His Loyal V.P.” reads a portion of Sherman’s title.

The New York Times last month reported, as Sherman writes, that “Trump had been privately asking advisers if Pence could be trusted, and that outside advisers have been pushing Nikki Haley to replace Pence.”

News broke on Wednesday also the the soon-to-be-former UN Ambassador will be selling her home in South Carolina and staying in New York City to write a book. A book is often a precursor to a presidential campaign run, although Haley promised to not run against Trump. She never said she would not run with him.
