Chris Christie Tells Donald Trump No

Former New Jersey Governor and Trump Transition team chief Chris Christie just sat down with President Donald Trump to discuss taking over as White House Chief of Staff.

Chris Christie just declined the job.

Or, more specifically, after talking with the President, asked to be removed from consideration.

It’s unclear why Christie would sit down with Trump to discuss the job if he wasn’t prepared to take it.

Trump fired or parted ways with John Kelly last week, believing Vice President Mike Pence’s Chief of Staff would take the job. Not only did Nick Ayers refuse the job, he resigned as Pence’s Chief of Staff as well.

Trump was forced to announce Kelly’s departure would be delayed until after the first ion the year.

Since then he’s bragged about the long list of people who want the job.

But one by one they have all pulled out of consideration.

Chris Christie, who backed Trump to the hilt during the campaign yet was unceremoniously fired as Trump’s transition chief, gets the last laugh.
