Bomb Threat Forcing CNN’s Don Lemon Off-Air: Timeline

CNN was forced off the air late Thursday night after a bomb threat was phoned in to the cable news channel’s New York City offices in the Time Warner building.

“Several fire alarm bells rang inside CNN’s New York newsroom, signaling an evacuation shortly after 10:30 p.m.,” CNN reported on its website Thursday night. “Staffers evacuated the building and Don Lemon’s ‘CNN Tonight’ was taken off the air and the network temporarily went to taped programming.”

The NYPD reported that around “10:35pm, a bomb threat was called into the Time Warner Center,” but later issued a correction saying, “Police responded to a call at 10:07 PM.”

One minute later, at 10:08 PM, President Trump posted this all-caps tweet:

But NBC News’ local New York City station tweeted the “bomb threat was called in moments after Trump’s ‘fake news’ tweet.”

Throughout the day on Thursday, Fox News had been attacking Lemon after the CNN host had commented Wednesday he would not have shaken President Trump’s hand at the funeral of President George H.W. Bush.

Fox News senior political analyst and Fox and Friends co-host Pete Hegseth on Tuesday posted this tweet attacking Lemon:

Thursday morning, Fox News online reported, “CNN’s Don Lemon was all-in with his anti-Trump rhetoric Wednesday night, saying he wouldn’t shake the president’s hand and bashing him for removing his coat.”

President Trump over the past few years has also personally attacked Lemon:

CNN posted this video just after 11 PM:
