Just like with his Russian collusion, President Trump is threatening to use the DOJ against his political opponents, right out in the open, for all to see.
President Donald Trump tried to respond to the big blue wave in the House late Tuesday night by posting a stoic tweet, congratulating the winners – presumably just Republicans:
That didn’t last long.
Early Wednesday morning he tweeted praise he received, taking credit for a slim pickup in the Senate.
And then he went for the jugular.
He claimed “a very Big Win,” while disparaging the “Nasty and Hostile Media”:
He declared any journalist who disagrees with him to be “FAKE NEWS!”
And then he threatened Democrats, attacking unsubstantiated “leaks of Classified Information, and much else, at the Senate level.”
President Trump is not the Senate Majority Leader, so presumably he’s just announced his decision to politicize the Department of Justice to “investigate” him political opponents.
Just like with his Russian collusion, he’s doing this right out in the open, for all to see.
President Trump will have to understand that the House is a co-equal branch of government, there’s a new sheriff in town, and Democrats are fighting mad.
