BIGOTRY
Right Wing Group Gets Totally Ratioed for Anti-Gay Tweet Blasting Same-Sex Kiss at Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade
Tens of millions of Americans watch the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade and on Thursday for the first time ever they saw a same-sex kiss. Most probably didn’t notice, some were pleased and grateful, but a small minority were angered.
Among that small minority is a far right wing conservative organization called For America. It claims the “radical Left is massively funded” and the only way to combat the majority opinion is to “create a national revolution in the one universe that presents us with the greatest opportunities: social media.”
They just failed their mission.
In response to Macy’s and NBC airing that innocent same-sex kiss, For America responded by complaining that “Millions of small children just watched two girls kiss and had their innocence broken this morning.”
Millions of small children just watched two girls kiss and had their innocence broken this morning. @nbc and @Macys just blindsided parents who expected this to be a family program, so they could push their agenda on little kids. #macysthanksgivingdayparade #MacysDayParade pic.twitter.com/EmCLSfNmAj

Apparently, America disagrees.
Right now For America is getting “ratioed.” They’re seeing the comments on their post exponentially outweighing the small number of tweets and retweets they’re getting. And barely any of the comments are in support of their anti-gay take.
As of this writing For America’s tweet has less than a thousand likes and retweets, but over 3500 comments.
Let’s look at some of those responses:
My son has had 3 active shooter drills at school since August.

But, OK with a President who pays off a porn star & talks about grabbing women like they’re pieces of meat. And, if you’re so outraged, why tweet the photo of the kiss? https://t.co/oymx5TzMwA

Only a twisted, desperate group of bigots (run by Trumpist David Bozell) would try to turn a kiss into a weapon in a war on love at Thanksgiving. https://t.co/eV3bBgIKtw

My 14 year old saw this, immediately went to Walmart to shoplift, shot up heroin, mugged old ladies and is now a member of MS-13.
The real scary thing in this country is conservatives like yourself who care more about shit like this than mass shooters. Get a life. https://t.co/ETPdWVINiv

There is no agenda. And for someone who has a cannon as an avatar when kids are killed every single day in gun violence, you can climb down off the cross about innocence lost, asshole.

Hahahaha…man..as soon as I saw that I knew some hateful people were gonna be big mad😂 get over it. My 4 year old saw it and didn’t say anything
If you need a warning about a parade, you need to look at your life and also never leave your house 🙄😂— Erica Albert (@ealbert1234) November 22, 2018
Being gay is not being anti-family nor is this display of love & tenderness some kind of aberration. It is beautiful and normal. What a vile, homophobic tweet. https://t.co/GzgqReMTBJ

“Just kiss. I don’t even wait. And when you’re a star, they let you do it. You can do anything. Grab them by the pussy. You can do anything.” https://t.co/Erv2MTgDPO

Wow, your family is hot.
Btw, @ForAmerica – my nieces & nephews knew that their gay aunts were different…because we bought the coolest presents. Other than that, we were like every couple in their life, only were weren’t allowed to get married, because of people like you.

Millions of small children sit through active shooter drills in their classrooms every month but it’s a chaste gay kiss on the Macy’s Parade that really broke their innocence. https://t.co/50uORDTXIi

It was a family program. Not all families look the same. It’s good that all children see that.

How about you think about all the people who couldn’t go home to their families today because they have been disowned and shamed for who they love and who they are. Think of all the people on the streets as a result. Explaining to kids that everyone should be loved isn’t hard

And now all the little girls who want to kiss another girl know it’s a normal thing. Stop painting queerness as “adult content”. Kids be gay too. https://t.co/VEaPBGVDfd
