President With ‘World’s Greatest Memory’ Says Written Answers to Mueller Are Only to the Best of His Recollection

President Donald Trump submitted his written answers to questions from Special Counsel Robert Mueller last week, and CNN reports it has obtained information about two of those responses.

The president told Mueller that Roger Stone did not tell him about Wikileaks. He also says he was not told about the now-infamous June 2016 Trump Tower meeting attended by his son Don Jr., Paul Manafort, Jared Kushner, a Russian government lawyer, and others.

“One source described the President’s answers without providing any direct quotes and said the President made clear he was answering to the best of his recollection,” CNN notes.

Trump has repeatedly bragged that he has “one of the greatest memories of all time.”

He’s also stated, “I have the world’s greatest memory. It’s one thing everyone agrees on.”

Former federal prosecutor Renato Mariotti says “Trump actually said he doesn’t ‘recall’ speaking with Stone or being told about the Trump Tower meeting. That lowers the value of his statements by design.”

Trump’s former attorney Michael Cohen reportedly had said the president knew in advance about the Trump Tower meeting. Cohen’s attorney later walked back his own claim that Cohen would be willing to testify about knowing Trump was aware of the meeting in advance.
