President Donald Trump catapulted into despair in an early Tuesday tweet storm attacking Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller as “a conflicted prosecutor gone rogue.”
The morning after stunning news revealed Mueller has rescinded his cooperation deal with former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort, now accused of lying to the FBI, the president cried that the “$30,000,000 Witch Hunt continues and they’ve got nothing but ruined lives.”
The President’s goal appeared to be to convince Trump’s remaining supporters that there are two sides to the story about Russia’s interference in the U.S. elections, while again attempting to discredit Mueller and his team.
Mueller, Trump claimed, “is doing TREMENDOUS damage to our Criminal Justice System, where he is only looking at one side and not the other. Heroes will come of this, and it won’t be Mueller and his terrible Gang of Angry Democrats.”
Trump also slammed the Department of Justice, even after firing his Attorney General, installing an unqualified Acting AG. The president has also replaced the Director of the FBI, after firing Jim Comey, he said, over the Russia investigation.
