House Democrats to Investigate Ivanka Trump

Democrats on the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform will investigate Ivanka Trump‘s use of private emails. The Advisor to the President and First Daughter conducted government business via her private email account, sending hundreds of emails in possible violation of federal record-keeping law.

A Democratic aide told The Hill the Committee plans “to continue our investigation of the presidential records act and federal records act, and we want to know if Ivanka complied with the law.”

That investigation began under then-Committee Chairman Jason Chaffetz (R-UT), but ended when he retired.

A spokesperson for Ivanka Trump’s attorney claims the Advisor to the President was unaware of federal government laws concerning the use of private emails, saying she had not been briefed when other administration officials had.

For two years the president’s supporters have chanted “lock her up” every time he mentions Hillary Clinton.
