Anti-Gay Clerk Kim Davis Voted Out of Office

Kim Davis, the Rowan County, Kentucky clerk who made national headlines for refusing to issue same-sex couples marriage licenses, has just been voted out of office.

Davis has lost to Democratic challenger Elwood Caudill Jr., the Lexington Herald-Leader reports.

Davis spent nearly a week in jail for refusing to follow a judge’s orders. She soon became a darling of the religious right, including among Republican presidential candidates like Mike Huckabee.
