President Donald Trump jumped in to defend his Supreme Court nominee Tuesday afternoon. Speaking to reporters on the White House lawn ahead of a campaign trip to Pennsylvania and Mississippi, the President said Brett Kavanaugh is “doing great.”
He also shared his concerns for young men, suggesting that women are filing false reports of sexual assault – while he attempted to discredit the three women who have charged Kavanaigh with sexual misconduct.
“It’s a very scary time for young men in America when you can be guilty of something that you may not be guilty of,” Trump said. “This is a very difficult time.”
“You can be somebody that was perfect your entire life and somebody could accuse you of something,” Trump said, “and you’re automatically guilty.”
Later, asked about women, Trump would only say they are “doing great.”
The president also claimed the Kavanaugh confirmation fight has been galvanizing for Republican voters.
