Sayoc Left Fingerprint on Bomb Package Sent to Maxine Waters – Faces 58 Years

FBI Director Christopher Wray revealed Friday afternoon that the suspect caught earlier today, Cesar Sayoc, left a “latent fingerprint” on one of the envelopes containing one of the bombs sent to Congresswoman Maxine Waters.

Wray mentioned also that there was DNA left on two different bombs, mailed in separate packages, though he did not mention which. He did note the bombs “are not hoax devices.”

Director Wray also noted there may very well be more packages yet to be found.

Sayoc will be charged with five difference felonies and currently faces 58 years in jail. The charges likely will change over time, as Attorney General Jeff Sessions told reporters Friday afternoon.

Sessions made clear: this was political violence.

Wray called the investigation “ongoing,” and refused to discuss the suspect’s motivation. Nor would he discuss his conversations with President Trump regarding the investigation.
