Here’s Nikki Haley’s Very Detailed Letter of Resignation – and Her Promise to Not Run for ‘Any’ Office in 2020

UN Ambassador Nikki Haley has resigned, and in an Oval Office announcement said she will stay in the Trump administration until the end of the year.

The Washington Post has obtained a copy of Haley’s letter of resignation. These tend to be short, with few if any details and generally serve as an official notice, at times after lengthy, private conversations.

Not Haley’s.

The South Carolina Republican former governor used her resignation letter to the President (her official “boss” is also the Secretary of State but it is not addressed to Pompeo) to detail her accomplishments.

She also used it to promise President Trump she will not run against him in 2020 – nor with him, either.

“I will surely not be a candidate for any office in 2020,” Haley writes. “As a private citizen, I look forward to supporting your re-election as President, and supporting the policies that will continue to move our great country toward even greater heights.”

In fact, Haley says she is returning to the private sector, which in theory dashes rumors she is setting herself up to become the next Senator of South Carolina – Lindsey Graham has been rumored to be in line to become Attorney General after the midterms.
