‘Haven’t Gotten to That in the Colorforms Book’: Eric Trump Mocked for Attacking Nancy Pelosi Over ‘Subpoena Power’

Calls Congressional Power to Subpoena Information ‘What They Do in Third World Countries’ (Literally What They Don’t Do in ‘Third World’ Countries)

Eric Trump was mercilessly mocked Monday afternoon after posting a tweet exposing what many said is his lack of understanding about how the federal government actually works.

In response to Republican Party chair Rona McDaniel tweeting a false claim about a possible House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announcement she will use the constitutionally-granted power of checks and balances, including the power of subpoenas, the younger adult Trump son called it “a very scary day for America,” “a slippery slope,” and “what they do in third world countries.”

As many pointed out, using subpoenas to legally obtain information is exactly the opposite of what “third world countries” do.
