U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley stunned the nation Tuesday morning when news broke she is resigning. In a rare move President Trump invited reporters to speak with him and Haley on her resignation in the Oval Office.
Haley insisted she is not leaving for personal reasons, nor is she leaving to spend more time with her family. The Ambassador explained she just believes that after spending 8 years in government service it was time to step down so someone else can take over.
Ambassador Haley took the time to praise Advisor to the President and First Daughter Ivanka Trump, and to call Senior Advisor to the President Jared Kushner, who is also the president’s son-in-law, a “hidden genius.”
Those remarks are leading some to wonder if Kushner, or Ivanka Trump, might be nominated to replace Haley.
Haley insists she will not be running in 2020.
Some are now wondering if she might be named to replace Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) if he takes over as Attorney General after the midterms.
