Ivanka Trump is Not Well-Liked, and What About Nepotism?
Will First Daughter and Advisor to the President Ivanka Trump be adding a new title to her resumé soon?
As soon as news broke that U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley was resigning at the end of the year, people on social media began to speculate about Ambassador Ivanka.
Those rumors were fed fuel when CNN’s Jim Acosta reported that Ivanka Trump is indeed “being considered as Nikki Haley’s replacement at the United Nations.”

But there’s even more cause for speculation, as some on social media noticed: Ivanka Trump all of a sudden yesterday started following several U.S. Military Twitter accounts – leading some to speculate she thinks she’s getting the job.
Among the Twitter accounts Ivanka Trump started following: the National Security Agency/Central Security Service, Deputy Secretary of Defense Patrick M. Shanahan, Naval Special Warfare and the Navy SEAL & SWCC Scout Team, Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), the Chief of Staff of the U.S. Army.
She also started following The American Legion, FEMA, and Stars & Stripes yesterday, and on Sunday afternoon started following the United States Army Twitter account.
Also fueling the speculation – and advocating for it, actually – is Politico Magazine: “Ivanka for U.N. Ambassador? Why Not?”
“Some in the White House have reportedly floated the idea,” writes Richard Gowan. “It’s not as crazy as it sounds.”

Contrary to the ill-informed who are claiming the First Daughter is “well-liked,” a June IPSOS poll found her approval rating underwater: 43% approve, 46% disapprove.
