“i ONLY want YOU in to support MAGA !”
Florida Gov. Rick Scott, who is the Republican Party’s nominee for Senate in the Sunshine State, took to Twitter on Thursday to dispute President Donald Trump’s claim that 3,000 Puerto Ricans didn’t actually die due to Hurricane Maria in 2017.
Specifically, Scott wrote that he “disagrees” with Trump’s claim that Democrats fabricated the entire death toll to make him look bad, and he said that “an independent study said thousands were lost” on Puerto Rico in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria last year, despite earlier estimates that just 64 people had died.
“I’ve been to Puerto Rico seven times and saw devastation firsthand,” Scott concluded. “The loss of any life is tragic; the extent of lives lost as a result of Maria is heart wrenching. I’ll continue to help Puerto Rico.”
I disagree with @POTUS– an independent study said thousands were lost and Gov. Rosselló agreed. I’ve been to Puerto Rico 7 times & saw devastation firsthand. The loss of any life is tragic; the extent of lives lost as a result of Maria is heart wrenching. I’ll continue to help PR

Scott’s decision to accurately cite hurricane death toll statistics did not sit well with many Trump supporters, however, and they accused him of being “just another liberal” because he contradicted the president.
Check out some of the reactions below.
Right. Mayors stealing relief supplies, truck drivers refusing to report for work at the port, half-assed construction standards, widespread corruption and a manana culture had nothing to do with it.https://t.co/zbdZ9ZWuE0https://t.co/OgdJqFkoGthttps://t.co/39c3AM21rS

Your making a mistake by falling for liberal trap, It took 1yr to find out how died.
Americans are not stupid the argument lacks common sense, the Gov. of PR should shoulder the blame. Libs Dem using death of Puerto Rico souls for votes in #FL that’s cold & sick

Stated like a politician running for a Senate seat. Trying to degrade @POTUS, who is under constant attack for EVERYTHING, doesn’t need someone he has helped tremendously trying to stick it to him. Not a good look on you @ScottforFlorida!

I see you have all the socialist bots commenting to this post
The deaths in PR occurred much later after the storm when supplies were hoarded instead of being distributed. Beside PR leaders care nothing about the people just their own pockets – just like dems in US
— Gator Dennis (@gatorDennis) September 13, 2018
Ok, but why do the ungrateful wretches expect that federal tax money should rebuild the whole island? FEMA money is for EMERGENCY relief, to save lives. Puerto Rico has to take it from there.

You have disappointed me with your critical comments about our great President! I have changed my mind about you and will NOT vote for you to be Senator in Florida!

Regarding PR deaths :PR Power Authority employees say that for decades, near-total control by the governor’s office has led to the power authority being stuffed with unqualified, politically connected managers. Electricity is the base problem. Not congress or Trump.

Fox & Friends: If the Media Doesn’t Want to Be Called ‘The Enemy’ They Should Report the Story How Trump Wants
“Fox & Friends” has a simple solution to get President Donald Trump to stop calling the press “the enemy of the people,” a phrase frequently used by 20th century dictators like Stalin, and also frequently by President Trump.
“How frustrating would it be if you are the President of the United States and every single time you turn on the TV on most of the channels they are misconstruing what you say?” “Fox & Friends” co-host Ainsley Earhardt asked, as Mediaite reports.
“You know your heart and you know your words and your voice and you watch what other people report on what you say and it’s completely different than what you mean,” she continued. “That has to be frustrating. That’s why he is calling it fake news.”
“He’s saying if you don’t want to be called the enemy, then get the story right, be accurate and report the story the way I want it reported,” she concluded.
Co-host Brian Kilmeade agreed, saying, “I think that’s a good point.”

To be clear, Trump calls “fake news” anything he doesn’t like, even when the story is entirely accurate, and even yesterday admitted he tells the truth only when he can.

Watch: Lindsey Graham Boos Audience After Being Heckled for Saying Kavanaugh ‘Was Treated Like Crap’
Sen. Lindsey Graham on Wednesday defiantly defended President Donald Trump after he mocked Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, who has alleged that she was sexually assaulted by Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.
During a discussion at The Atlantic Festival, Graham was asked how he felt about Trump’s remarks at a Tuesday rally, where he made fun of Ford’s memory gaps.
“Everything he said was factual,” Graham insisted.
“Factual? It was a personal degrading attack on someone who’s a private citizen,” the moderator noted.
“No,” Graham shot back. “Here’s what’s personally degrading, ‘This is what you get when you go through a trailer park with $100 bill.’”
The audience gasped.
Graham apparently was referring to comment made by James Carville in the 1990s about women who accused then-President Bill Clinton of sexual misconduct.
“Sometimes people are accused of something they didn’t do.” Graham said. “So President Trump went through a factual rendition on Ford] that I didn’t particularly like and I would tell him [to] knock it off.”
“But it can be worse,” he added. “You can actually kill somebody’s cat and puncture their tires to get them to shut up.”
“I don’t even understand what means,” the moderator replied.
Graham explained that the comment was in reference to Bill Clinton’s scandals.
“The point is that Donald Trump could have said something even worse?” the moderator pressed.
“The point is that we’ve come a long way!” Graham exclaimed. “Whether you like it of not, I really don’t care. Here’s the point, I have seen what happened to these women in 1998 that came forward. I don’t like what the president said last night.”
The South Carolina Republican insisted that Ford was “treated respectfully” by the Senate Judiciary Committee and that Kavanaugh “was treated like crap.”
The remark earned Graham loud boos from the audience.
“Yeah, well, boo yourself,” Graham chided. “I really believe that Brett Kavanaugh is not a gang rapist, a sexual predator or a stumbling, bumbling drunk. I really believe that and I don’t care whether you believe it or not.”

Republican Party Chair Makes Disturbing Threat to Americans
Chairwoman of the Republican Party Ronna McDaniel issued a stunning statement threatening Americans Wednesday evening: embrace the Trump agenda. If you don’t you “will be making a mistake.”
Former Office of Government Ethics chief Walter Shaub was among the first to make clear that yes, the GOP chair seemed to be threatening Americans.
That sounds like a threat.

your friendly fascist threat of the day. https://t.co/jHjUdPHoTz
— Noah Berlatsky (@nberlat) June 14, 2018
McDaniels’ threat comes on the heels of at least two Republicans calling the Trump administration a cult.
“We are in a strange place,” U.S. Senator Bob Corker (R-TN) said this week. “I mean, it’s almost, it’s becoming a cultish thing, isn’t it? And it’s not a good place for any party to end up with a cult-like situation as it relates to a president that happens to be of — purportedly, of the same party.”
And MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” co-host Joe Scarborough made a similar remark this week.
“Why don’t we just say it has devolved into a cult? Primary voters in the Republican Party have devolved into a Trumpist cult,” Scarborough, a former Republican Congressman, said.
