Trump: FBI Didn’t Investigate Kavanaugh Because There’s ‘Nothing to Investigate’ – Accusations Are ‘All False’

President Donald Trump held the fifth press conference of his presidency Wednesday afternoon, and his first as an un-indicted co-conspirator.

He made easily a half-dozen false statements in the first few minutes, even before reporters began asking questions.

Trump first called on John Roberts of Fox News, who asked him why he did not order the FBI to reopen its investigation into Judge Brett Kavanaugh.

“There was nothing to investigate,” Trump told Roberts.

Dr. Christine Blasey Ford delivered enough details for the FBI to investigate. When Anita Hill made allegations against Clarence Thomas, it took the FBI just three days to investigate.

The president also, falsely, repeated his claim that the FBI does not do these types of investigations.

Trump also attacked the Democrats.

“It’s a big, fat, con job,” he said of the allegations against Judge Kavanaugh. “And they go into a room, and I guarantee you: they laugh like hell.”

Asked if he thinks the three women accusing Kavanaugh are lying, Trump first replied, “I won’t get into that game. I only tell you this: this is one of the highest-quality people that I’ve ever met.”

But he then said, “these are all false, to me,” speaking of the accusations.

Trump was also asked that since he has daughters, why isn’t he more sympathetic toward the accusers. He refused to respond, saying only, “By the way, I only say this: 36 years, no charge, no nothing. People are going to have to make a decision. 36 years.”

He then attacked Michael Avenatti.
