A student from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School was found dead in Coral Springs, Florida, the victim of an apparent suicide. This marks the second such death within a week’s time of survivors of the deadly 2018 school shooting.

Neither the victim’s name, gender, nor age has been released to the public, although Coral Springs police spokesman Tyler Reik has said the student was a juvenile. Other sources via the Miami Herald have indicated that the deceased was a male sophomore.

This recent suicide comes just one week after Sydney Aiello took her life following a Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder diagnosis. Aiello was a recent graduate of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, and lost a friend of hers, Meadow Pollack, in the shooting.

The Miami Herald also quoted Ryan Petty, the father of Alaina Petty — one of the victims in the Parkland shooting — as saying the most recent victim died from a gunshot wound to the head. This is the same cause of death as Aiello.

Petty leads the WalkUp Foundation, seeking to make schools safer places. 

“When you look at Columbine as an example, almost just as many students killed themselves after the fact than in the actual shooting. That needs to change,” said Petty. “We need to get them the help they need.”

David Hogg, another survivor who has been become an activist in the wake of the tragedy, spoke out about the recent deaths on Twitter, asking “How many more kids have to be taken from us as a result of suicide for the government / school district to do anything?”

He closed his tweet with, “Rip 17+2,” a reference to the 17 students and staff members killed in the shooting as well as the two recent suicide deaths.

These deaths mark the one-year anniversary of the March For Our Lives, a student march against gun violence that was held in Washington DC and other places across the U.S. Turnout for that protest was estimated at between 1.2 and 2 million people.

Students at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School are currently out for Spring Break.

Police in Aurora, Illinois have just apprehended a suspect in what they say was an active shooting situation. The shooter had been in a manufacturing plant.

UPDATE: 5:08 PM ET – CBS reports the suspect is “dead.”

“Two sources tell CBS 2 Investigator Brad Edwards that they believe multiple officers and civilians have been wounded,” CBS News reports.

At least four police officers reportedly have been injured.

The perpetrator of a deadly shooting at a yoga studio in Florida has been identified as racist and misogynist.

Scott Paul Beierle entered Hot Yoga in Tallahassee, Florida on Friday evening, posing as a customer. He then shot and killed two women, Van Vessem, 61, and Maura Binkley, 21. He wounded five others before turning the gun upon himself.

Beierle had been arrested and charge in 2016 with battery after he grabbed a woman’s buttock and slapped her at the pool in an apartment complex. He also was alleged to have grabbed the buttock of another woman in a dining hall at FSU four years prior, but claimed it was an accident.

In 2014, according to BuzzFeed News, Beierle posted a series of misogynist and racist videos to YouTube.

“There are whores in — not only every city, not only every town, but every village,” Beierle ranted during one video.

Beierle also argued against interracial relationships in the video, saying women who are in one have somehow betrayed “their blood.”

The shooter had also praised shooter Elliot Rodger, who is largely seen as a hero amongst the so-called “incel” movement, a largely online-focused number of people who have declared themselves “involuntary celibate.”

“Incels” are misogynists who blame women for their inability to enter a healthy sexual relationship, rather than their own failings.

“I’d like to send a message now to the adolescent males… that are in the position, the situation, the disposition of Elliot Rodger, of not getting any, no love, no nothing,” Beierle said in one video. “This endless wasteland that breeds this longing and this frustration. That was me, certainly, as an adolescent.

Rodger murdered six people and injured 14 others in 2014 in California.
