Judge Sentences Bill Cosby to Prison

Judge Steven O’Neill has just sentenced Bill Cosby to 3 to 10 years in state prison. He specifically refused to give Cosby house arrest, which the defense requested. He will not get bail and will leave the courthouse in handcuffs, NBC Philadelphia reports.

Tuesday morning the judge ruled Cosby is a “sexually violent predator,” which means he will have to register as a sex offender and undergo lifetime counseling.

An April trial found Cosby, who is 81, guilty on three counts of felony aggravated indecent assault against Andrea Constand.

Prosecutors had asked the court to sentence Cosby to five to 10 years in jail.
