200 Alumnae of Kavanaugh Accuser’s School Sign Letter of Support – as Judge’s Supporters Fade

More than 200 alumnae of the Maryland college prep school attended by Kavanaugh accuser Dr. Christine Blasey Ford have signed an open letter supporting the California professor. Dr. Ford is the author of what was a confidential letter accusing Judge Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault and attempted rape when both were in high school. At the time he was 17, and she was 15.

“We are alumnae of Holton-Arms School, and we are writing in support of Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, a fellow Holton graduate,” the letter reads.

“We believe Dr. Blasey Ford and are grateful that she came forward to tell her story. It demands a thorough and independent investigation before the Senate can reasonably vote on Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination to a lifetime seat on the nation’s highest court.”

“Dr. Blasey Ford’s experience is all too consistent with stories we heard and lived while attending Holton. Many of us are survivors ourselves.”

Meanwhile, as Politico reports, just two of the 65 women who signed a letter of support for Judge Kavanaugh have responded to the news outlet’s inquiry asking if they still support the Supreme Court nominee.

“More than two dozen of the women who signed onto the letter did not immediately respond when contacted by POLITICO on Sunday about whether they still stood behind their defense of Kavanaugh. Two of the women who signed the letter declined to comment,” Politico reports. It does not state the position of the others.
