Watch: Trump Doubles Down on Election Violence Threat – ‘I Just Hope There Won’t Be Violence’

‘There’s a Lot of Unnecessary Violence’ Trump Said, After Warning Evangelicals There Will Be Violence if They Lose the Midterms

Monday night President Trump warned dozens of Evangelical leaders that if Republicans lose the midterms Christians will face violence from the left. Even though his claims are one-hundred percent baseless, the president had no problem fear-mongering in an attempt to get religious leaders from the pulpits to tell their flocks to vote for the GOP.

And in fact, Trump telegraphed that very message later on in the evening.

Now, Wednesday afternoon, the president is doubling down on his theme that Democrats are violent – which, again, is false.

“I just hope there won’t be violence,” President Trump told reporters in the White House minutes ago.

“If you look at what happens, there’s a lot of unnecessary violence. All over the world, but also in this country,” he added, trying to defend something that literally almost never, ever happens in modern-day America: post-election violence. “And I don’t want to see it.”

On Monday, Trump told Evangelical leaders, including hate group head Tony Perkins, that Democrats “will overturn everything that we’ve done and they’ll do it quickly and violently. And violently. There’s violence. When you look at Antifa, and you look at some of these groups, these are violent people.”
