Trump: McGahn Will Exit White House Soon

Hours after Axios reported that White House Counsel Don McGahn would be leaving the White House soon, President Trump has just confirmed that the attorney is on his way out.

“White House Counsel Don McGahn will be leaving his position in the fall, shortly after the confirmation (hopefully) of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the United States Supreme Court,” Trump tweeted. “I have worked with Don for a long time and truly appreciate his service!”

Part of that service, which reportedly drew Trump’s ire, was news McGahn testified before Special Counsel Robert Mueller for 30 hours, over the course of three days.

Axios’ report cites anonymous sources three times.
