Trump Explodes on ‘Angry Democrat Thugs’ and ‘Discredited’ Bob Mueller ‘Looking to Impact the Election’

President Donald Trump Monday morning, triggered by a New York Times story that revealed White House Counsel Don McGahn cooperated with special prosecutor Robert Mueller, including spending 30 hours speaking with him and his team, exploded in a tweet storm.

The President attacked Robert Mueller, whose reputation to date has been unimpeachable, with all his might, along with Mueller’s team of investigators looking into Russia’s interference in the U.S. election, and any collusion between Russia and the Trump team.

“Disgraced and discredited Bob Mueller and his whole group of Angry Democrat Thugs spent over 30 hours with the White House Councel, only with my approval, for purposes of transparency,” Trump said, trying to convince his base that he was aware of the scope of the discussions (which reports make clear he was not.)

McGahn, according to The New York Times, spoke with Mueller and his team as the White House Counsel (not “Councel,” as Trump repeatedly spell the word,) whose job is not to protect the president, but the Office of the Presidency.

“Anybody needing that much time when they know there is no Russian Collusion is just someone,” Trump tweeted, “looking for trouble.”

“They are enjoying ruining people’s lives and REFUSE to look at the real corruption on the Democrat side – the lies, the firings, the deleted Emails and soooo much more! Mueller’s Angry Dems are looking to impact the election. They are a National Disgrace!” the President decried, with no basis in fact.

Continuing to display his utter lack of understanding of the role of president or of the meaning of the U.S. Constitution, Trump continued his tweet storm.

“Where’s the Collusion?” the President continued. “They made up a phony crime called Collusion, and when there was no Collusion they say there was Obstruction (of a phony crime that never existed). If you FIGHT BACK or say anything bad about the Rigged Witch Hunt, they scream Obstruction!”
