FBI Pushes Back on Far Right Wing Publication’s Story That Appears to Have Prompted Trump Tweet

Even though it’s been nearly two years since he was elected, President Donald Trump still seems fixated on Hillary Clinton’s emails.

The president on Wednesday wrote that Clinton’s emails were supposedly “hacked by China,” despite the fact that none of Clinton’s State Department emails have ever been leaked by any foreign government.

The president’s claims about Clinton’s emails originally came from a report in the right-wing Daily Caller that cited anonymous sources to claim that the former Secretary of State’s private email server had been compromised by a Chinese company.

However, via Fox News national security correspondent Jennifer Griffin, it seems that the FBI is pushing back on the publication’s story. In fact, she writes that an FBI official has told Fox News Justice Department reporter Jake Gibson that “the FBI has not found any evidence the servers were compromised.”
