Monday morning conspiracy theorist and fake news promoter Alex Jones had most of his podcasts removed from Apple’s iTunes platform. And from Spotify. And from Facebook.
And his day just got worse.
YouTube has deleted Alex Jones’ channel. That means his 2.4 million subscribers, and the rest of the world, cannot view his videos on the platform owned by Google.
“When users violate these policies repeatedly, like our policies against hate speech and harassment or our terms prohibiting circumvention of our enforcement measures, we terminate their accounts,” a YouTube spokesperson said.
Tech news site The Verge reports Jones “repeatedly posted videos containing hate speech and child endangerment.”
Infowars editor-at-large Paul Joseph Watson took to Twitter to claim, erroneously, “This is political censorship.” He also called the moves by the top social media platforms “a coordinated PURGE.”
And Jones, claiming himself to be a “conservative news outlet,” asked which one “will be next?” while falsely claiming he is “Being Banned From The Internet.”
