It’s been less than a week since five people, including four respected journalists, were gunned down in their newsroom, yet President Trump Tuesday morning continued his assault on the press.
Just one day after he refused a request to order the nation’s flags to fly at half-staff to honor the five people slaughtered at The Capital Gazette, Trump targeted the media once again.
He referred to the press as “the Opposition Party,” and, as he has done on countless occasions, “the Fake News,” ginning up more resentment towards those exercising their First Amendment rights and their responsibilities as part of the nation’s Fourth Estate.

And the president tied it all up in a claim praising himself, insisting “we would now be at War with North Korea!” if it were not for him.
In reality, as the American military and even The Wall Street Journal confirms, North Korea is advancing its nuclear weapons program, enriching more uranium in complete violation of the deal Trump made with Kim Jong-un.
