President Says If He Didn’t Get Along So Well With Putin We Could Be at War With Russia – Echoing the Fox News Pundit
President Donald Trump launched into a defensive tweetstorm early Wednesday morning, trying to get on top of the disaster that was what some pundits and even legal experts are calling his treasonous performance in support of President Vladimir Putin.
At one point President Trump strongly suggested that the only thing standing in the way between war with Russia was “the fact that I got along well with President Putin of Russia.”
But those talking points were literally delivered just one hour prior, by none other than Fox News pundit Tomi Lahren, as Media Matters for America news director John Whitehouse noted on Twitter:

So not only is President Trump getting his talking points and policy from a Fox News pundit, he’s also wrong – as is she.
Trump’s “I alone can fix it” worldview includes the false concept that the world is spinning on his personal relationships, and without them – and therefore, him – the world would fall into chaos, and war.
But the only war Russia and America are any danger of being in is the one we currently face. Putin is already at war – cyber war – with many countries across the globe, including the U.S.
Which is why Trump’s appeasement of the Russian autocrat – whom he greatly admires – is so dangerous.
