Former FBI Director Jim Comey is under fire, this time from Democrats, for his tone-deaf tweet urging them to not move further left. Comey was a top Democratic target for his actions that many on the left – and statisticians like Nate Silver – believe threw the presidential election to Donald Trump.
But after standing up to the president and getting fired as FBI Director by Donald Trump, many on the left cautiously gave him their support.
For some, that support just evaporated.
“Democrats, please, please don’t lose your minds and rush to the socialist left,” Comey tweeted late Sunday afternoon. “This president and his Republican Party are counting on you to do exactly that. America’s great middle wants sensible, balanced, ethical leadership.”
Comey’s opinions on how Democrats should act and what they should believe are clearly not welcome, if social media is any indication.
He immediately was crucified.
