The Dept. of Justice’s Inspector General has just released its report examining then-FBI Director Jim Comey’s investigation into Hillary Clinton’s emails, including Comey’s decision to announce his findings that crucified the then-Democratic presidential nominee.
Many believe Comey’s decision to make that very public criticism of Clinton, along with his announcements very close to the election of the finding of additional emails on a laptop shared by Clinton aide Huma Abedin and her husband Anthony Weiner, threw the race to Trump.
The Inspector General’s report states Comey was “insubordinate” in his actions but did not act with bias.
“We found no evidence that the conclusions by department prosecutors were affected by bias or other improper considerations,” the report states, according to The New York Times. “Rather, we concluded that they were based on the prosecutor’s assessment of facts, the law, and past department practice.”
Also in the report is the news that texts of the two FBI agents who were opposed to Donald Trump becoming president included the out-of-context claim that they told each other that the Bureau “will stop” Trump from becoming president.

The Times notes “the report did not cite evidence that Mr. Strzok had acted improperly or influenced the outcome of the investigation, the officials said.”
The report also says the decision to not charge Clinton was correct.
It also blasts Comey for publicly announcing Comey’s announcement that he had found additional emails and was (effectively) re-opening the investigation, just days before there election.
