CHILDREN DON'T BELONG IN INTERNMENT CAMPS
First Lady Now in Texas Visiting Migrant Detention Center for Children – No Mention of Visiting Children
First Lady Melania Trump has been sent on a surprise trip to Texas to visit with migrant children the Trump administration kidnapped from their undocumented families. The trip was not pre-announced, but her office just released a statement announcing today’s visit.
“First Lady Melania Trump has arrived in Texas to take part in briefings and tours at a nonprofit social services center for children who have entered the United States illegally and a customs and border patrol processing center,” the statement reads.
“Her goals are to thank law enforcement and social services providers for their hard work, lend support and hear more on how the administration can build upon the already existing efforts to reunite children with their families.”
The statement does not say she will be visiting or talking with the children being housed in the internment camps.
There is no plan to reunite the nearly 2400 children taken from undocumented parents during the Trump administration’s “no tolerance” policy implementation, which began in April.
