Donald Trump Jr. Gets the Supreme Court’s ‘Narrow’ Wedding Cake Ruling Really Wrong

No one’s ever accused Donald Trump Jr. of being exceptionally brilliant, but even the least-informed Americans generally understand a few basic concepts about our Supreme Court.

But Trump Jr. really blew it Monday, in his never-ending quest to offer “insight” and “hot takes,” which he always tries to use against the left (in other words, the majority of the country, those Americans who didn’t vote for his father.)

The Supreme Court handed down a 7-2 ruling in a case brought by a Christian baker who refused to bake a wedding cake for a same-sex couple. As many Americans who even loosely follow the news, the Court’s ruling is being characterized as “narrow” because it applies to only that one baker. It sets no precedents, changes no laws, and basically has zero impact on anyone’s rights.

It is not “narrow” because it was a 7-2 ruling.

Try telling that to Donald Trump, Jr., who posted this embarrassingly ignorant tweet:

Many, many responded, telling him he’s wrong and why, but he was undeterred.

In fact, he went on to retweet an equally ignorant, similar claim:

And Harvard Law graduate Sen. Ted Cruz, who knows better, apparently tried to cozy up to the president’s son (he’s running for re-eelction as a Trump supporter), posted a similarly ignorant take, which Trump Jr. naturally retweeted.

Even Fox News veteran Brit Hume got it wrong – and Trump Jr. decided he had to bash the media to defend his bad take.

Many were only too happy to mock the president’s eldest son:
