Charlottesville White Supremacist Rally Organizer Granted Permit for ‘White Civil Rights’ March on DC

Jason Kessler, the “alt-right” leader and accused white supremacist, has been granted a permit for a “white civil rights” march on Washington, D.C.’s National Mall. Kessler is the organizer of a similar rally in Charlottesville in 2017, during which one woman protesting white supremacists and neo-Nazis was murdered.

Local CBS News affiliate WSET reports the National Park Serice has granted Kessler the permit. Last month Kessler threatened to hold the rally in D.C. if  Charlottesville declined his permit request, which it did.

“Kessler is holding the rally in Washington, D.C. on the anniversaries of the violence in Charlottesville: the torch-lit march by white nationalists at UVA and the deadly rally at Emancipation Park.”

The purpose of the event, according to the permit request signed by Kessler, is, “protesting civil rights abuse in Charlottesville Va / white civil rights rally.”

He claims just 400 people will attend. The permit was granted for 8 AM August 11 through 8 PM August 12.

A copy of the permit can be viewed on Scribd.
