President Donald Trump’s grasp of reality appears to be slipping further and further. On Thursday morning he attacked the chairman and CEO of Disney, which owns ABC, demanding an apology for an erroneous news story. The news network in fact not only had apologized less than a day after the story ran, but it almost immediately corrected the story and suspended the reporter.
Minutes later on Thursday, Trump tweeted that he “never fired James Comey because of Russia!”
In fact, on NBC News, Trump told Lester Holt he in fact did.
(That, by the way, was the last time Trump granted an interview to a major news network other than Fox News.)
Many on social media – including NBC News – were only too happy to point out Trump’s lie.
