Trump Says Kim Jong-un ‘Was Excellent’ to American Prisoners – But That’s Not What the Prisoners Say

President Donald Trump has gone from taunting Kim Jong-un as “little rocket man,” to heaping great praise on the North Korean dictator. Trump in recent days has called the Supreme Leader of North Korea who has executed his own people and even his own family members “very honorable.”

In 2017, on President Trump’s watch, Kim Jong-un arrested and imprisoned two Americans, Tony Kim, and Kim Hak-song. In 2015, under President Obama, Kim arrested and imprisoned Kim Dong-chul. On Wednesday he released all three. Trump greeted them at Joint Base Andrews early Thursday morning.

“I want to thank Kim Jong-un, who really was excellent to these three incredible people. They are really three incredible people,” Trump told reporters around 3 AM Thursday.

But Kim Jong-un was not “excellent” to the three Americans who were forced to work in hard labor camps.

In fact, one of the prisoners made clear they were not treated “excellent.”

“We were treated in many different ways,” Kim Dong-chul said, diplomatically, Thursday morning.
