‘This Isn’t About a Gun’: Tomi Lahren Blames ‘Insta-Famous Culture’ for Parkland – Gets Slammed by Victim’s Dad

On Wednesday, the Broward State Attorney’s Office released videos of Parkland shooter Nicolas Cruz mercilessly plotting his attack.

“With the power of my AR-15 you will all know who I am,” Cruz said in one video.

Cruz’s video prompted conservative pundit Tomi Lahren to come up with yet another excuse to ignore the role of guns in school shootings.

“The Parkland shooter’s cell phone videos are bone chilling. This kid was determined to get attention one way or another. This isn’t about a gun,” Lahren tweeted. “This is about the insta-famous culture and a deeply disturbed individual.”

In response, Fred Guttenberg, the  father of slain teenager Jaime Guttenberg, pointed out that his daughter might have survived the attack if Cruz hadn’t been armed with an AR 15. Jaime Gutenberg’s body was found on the third floor, which means that she might have escaped if Cruz didn’t have a semi-automatic rifle—”America’s rifle,” according to the NRA.

“I am Fred Guttenberg, father of Jaime Guttenberg who was on the 3rd floor, one of the last to be shot. SHE DIED!!! If this killer did not have an AR 15, he never makes it to the 3rd floor and my daughter lives,” he posted. ”With regards to the casualties, IT IS THE GUN!!!.”
