President Donald Trump‘s future just took a turn for the worse. So did Michael Cohen‘s, his supposedly now-former personal attorney (although not according to his Twitter bio, which still claims he’s Trump’s attorney).
As it turns out, Michael Cohen has a business partner. Not a law partner, because Cohen doesn’t actually practice much law. A taxi cab business partner. And, according to The New York Times, he’s a “significant business partner.”
And he’s now a co-operating witness for the FBI.
“Under the agreement, the partner, Evgeny A. Freidman, a Russian immigrant who is known as the Taxi King, will avoid jail time, and will assist government prosecutors in state or federal investigations,” The Times reports.
“Mr. Freidman, who was disbarred earlier this month, had been accused of failing to pay more than $5 million in taxes and faced four counts of criminal tax fraud and one of grand larceny — all B felonies,” The Times adds. “Each carries a maximum prison sentence of up to 25 years in prison.”
