President Donald Trump is now trying to appear as if he cares about those foolish or greedy enough to have been associated with his campaign, transition team, and administration. On Sunday morning he posted a tweet describing them as starry-eyed patriots who returned home from battle “in tatters.”
What he neglected to mention is he is responsible for anyone touched by the Mueller probe. If he colluded with Russia, he is responsible for all the people he harmed by doing so. If he obstructed justice, he his responsible for all the people harmed by doing so. If he engaged in money laundering, or any other illegal or even immoral acts, he his responsible for all the people harmed by doing so.
And if he didn’t do any of these, but allowed them to happen, he is equally responsible.
His tweet takes a decidedly different tone from almost any before; he attempts to appear to care about others.
“Who’s going to give back the young and beautiful lives (and others) that have been devastated and destroyed by the phony Russia Collusion Witch Hunt? They journeyed down to Washington, D.C., with stars in their eyes and wanting to help our nation,” he claimed. “They went back home in tatters!”
The reaction was immediate. Some expressed outrage, others just mocked him.
