‘Use Often!’: Trump Defends Use of ‘Mission Accomplished’

The Internet immediately roasted Donald Trump for channeling George W. Bush by declaring “mission accomplished” when describing the U.S. military strikes in Syria.

“A perfectly executed strike last night,” Trump tweeted Saturday, echoing George W. Bush and the Iraq War. “Thank you to France and the United Kingdom for their wisdom and the power of their fine Military. Could not have had a better result. Mission Accomplished!”

Now – and naturally – the president has responded to the criticism. In-between his obsessive attack on former FBI Director James Comey and his upcoming, bestselling memoir, Trump opted to declare he saw the criticism coming.

“The Syrian raid was so perfectly carried out, with such precision, that the only way the Fake News Media could demean was by my use of the term ‘Mission Accomplished,’” Trump wrote. “I knew they would seize on this but felt it is such a great Military term, it should be brought back. Use often!”
