Rod Rosenstein Isn’t Safe – He Is ‘About to Be Spit-Roasted’

Reports on Thursday hailed Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein as a hero and a genius. He apparently has convinced the president to not fire special counsel Robert Mueller or Rosenstein himself, by telling Trump he is not the “target” of the Russia or Michael Cohen investigations.

That apparently took the pressure off, one week after Rosenstein made it known he was at “peace” with being fired, should Trump decide. Trump firing Rosenstein, many say, would be akin to firing Mueller, and would be done to curtail the Russia probe.

But a new report out Friday at Axios makes clear Rosenstein is not safe. In fact, Trump and his team are working on a plan not only to fire him, but to “spit roast” the Deputy Attorney General.

“President Trump ‘hasn’t cooled off on’ Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein (who oversees the Mueller investigation) and could still fire him,” a source close to Trump tells Axios’ Jonathan Swan.

“Trump doesn’t know exactly what to do with [Rosenstein]. They don’t have a clean way to get rid of him. That’s the problem,” Swan’s “behind-the-scenes” source adds.

The Trump White House is working with two of the most far-right wing GOP Congressmen, Reps. Mark Meadows and Jim Jordan, to develop a plan to get rid of Rosenstein.

“I do think a case is being built against him [Rosenstein]. That’s what Meadows and Jordan are doing,” Swan’s source says.

His source adds: Rosenstein may be “about to be spit-roasted.”

MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” on Thursday detailed the targeting of Rosenstein:
