Roy Moore, the failed Republican nominee for the U.S. Senate whose campaign was derailed in part by several women who accused him of inappropriate sexual conduct – including child rape in one case – is suing three of them. Moore and his attorney held a press conference Monday afternoon, alleging the three women engaged in a “conspiracy” to keep him from winning the open Alabama seat.
“”The accusations made against Judge Moore during the US Senate campaign arose from a political conspiracy to destroy his personal reputation and defeat him in the special Senate election for United States Senate,” Moore’s attorney, Melissa Isaak said.
On Twitter, many were only too happy for the chance to once again mock the man who holds the unique distinction of being removed as the Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court – twice.
Even an attorney who writes for the right wing website The Federalist couldn’t help but note Moore’s lawsuit claims he has a stellar career with no “hint of scandal.”
