“Fox and Friends” co-host Ainsley Earhardt Friday morning appeared to suggest that President Donald Trump should bomb Syria to distract from the news coverage of Jim Comey’s book.
“If the President and France and the U.K. decide to strike Syria, don’t you think that story would be a bigger story than Comey’s book that’s released on Tuesday?” Earhardt, in the video below, asks fellow Fox News commentator Geraldo Rivera.
This certainly seems like Fox News strategizing on foreign and domestic policy for an audience of one – and advocating for military action during which many would be killed, possibly including U.S. service members, all to draw attention away from a book that’s unflattering to the Commander-in-Chief who would order the strike.
President Trump is known to watch the cable TV news shows for some say 8 hours a day, and Fox News by far the most. Wednesday night Trump tweeted to his supporters to watch Fox News’ “Hannity” that night, presumably to see Sean Hannity’s unwavering defense of Trump.
Thursday night ABC News reported “Trump’s tweets and actions frequently correspond with segments on ‘Fox & Friends.'”
“I guess in the back of my mind I occasionally think he could be watching,” Earhardt told ABC News. “But it doesn’t affect anything that I say, my opinions or how I report the news.”
